The Outreach Program in one minute
OSHA — the Occupational Safety and Health Administration — runs a voluntary Outreach Training Program through authorized private trainers. The 10-hour construction version teaches entry-level workers to recognize the hazards most likely to kill or injure them. Finish it and you receive a Department of Labor wallet card that never expires federally (though some cities and employers want a refresher every 5 years).

What the card is not
Be clear-eyed about this, because dishonest marketing is everywhere:
- It is not a license or trade certification.
- It does not replace the site-specific and equipment-specific training your employer must still give you.
- A prep app — including ours — cannot issue the card. Only an authorized trainer can.
Tip: if a website promises you an “OSHA certification” in an hour for $20, walk away. Real courses take the full 10 hours by design — that’s federal policy, not trainer greed.
